Community
If you are seeking a professional opportunity in a family oriented, low crime, quality of life oriented small town,
then St. Clairsville presents the prospect you are looking for.
The City is a bedroom community for the Wheeling metro area. "Quiet" in St. Clairsville's case doesn't mean "boring".
The city is located one hour from Pittsburgh, and two hours from Columbus. The Wheeling metro area of which St. Clairsville is a
part, offers a number of amenities and services people search for. There are several colleges and university campuses in the
metro area. The nationally acclaimed National Road Bikeway is in St. Clairsville, and Oglebay Park is ten minutes away.
Perhaps most significantly and as an indication of the quality of life here is that St. Clairsville is the 2007-2008 National Champion in the 5,001 - 10,000 population category of the America In Bloom competition. This award judges community's in eight areas:
- Environmental Awareness
- Floral Displays
- Landscaped Areas
- Tidiness
- Urban Forestry
- Heritage Preservation
- Turf & Groundcover
- Community Involvement
All of this, and more without any municipal income taxes (one of the few communities in Ohio that can make that claim).
The largest retail area between Pittsburgh and Columbus is located at St. Clairsville. The area has five area hospitals and several
urgent care/medical centers offering excellent health care. A great deal of public recreation areas offering abundant outdoor
opportunities abound.
If you seek to leave the rat race for a great quality of life, then consider St. Clairsville, the host of the Clarendon
Hotel-Restaurant Project.
